Stockholm

Inger, Shirley, Jan, Carmel Bob and Jon at a Stockholm's metro station

Spring flowers in the park.

Bjorn and Inger

Two old blokes, and two young girls!

Inger is about to enter the Chocolate shop! We had a superb dinner there on our first night.

Beautiful gardens.

Jan was interviewed for a "Vox Pop". They took his photo, and it appeared in the main newspaper the next day.

Bob and I join with the Norwegians on the 17th.

We rest in the bright sunshine. We were so lucky with the beautiful spring weather.

Jan and Bob at the Architecture Museum

Bjorn, Inger and Jan stayed in this hostel. It is on the edge of the water!

All types of ships are moored, and provide a very interesting walk around the island.

This is a crane for lifting cannons onto boats.

These are torpedos!

This is my favourite sculpture. (I have yet to google it.. I'll add details later.)
It is next to the Art Museum.

Beautiful old architecture.

There is more water than land in Stockholm!

"Le Paradis Fantastique" 1966
Tinguely's moving, motorised sculptures are outside the Modern Museum.

We ate well at the Museum.

I keep in touch with Carmel and Jon, who are having a late start.

Segways.

We visited the shopping area in the South Island. This shop was also a pottery. (Her kiln was just left of this picture.) Inger bought me two pots (the dark ones near my coat.) Luckily they were well wrapped and arrived home in good shape. Thank you Inger! xxx

Bob and Jan waiting for us.

Bjorn finds a friend.

Beautiful delicatessan shop. Bjorn bought me some cheese!
I posted it home, so as to avoid the custom's questions.
Delicious!

We ate in funky cafes and restaurants.

Beautiful colourful city parks, where everyone appreciated the sunny weather.

We all gaze at the view over the sea wall.
Bjorn points to the Photography Museum.

Here it is.

Bob decides to use a chair, and gets some sneaky shots in the lift.
No fooling Bjorn, though.

This turned out to be a magical place. We started with beers.

Then moved to another table and had a beautiful dinner: Skagen all around.

Jan, Bjorn and the view.

We stayed till sunset (closing time as well). It was so beautiful!

Our last day in Stockholm. We returned to old town, via the city centre.

Wild white water!

Trendy shops.

My next painting.

Jon waits patiently while Carmel and I click away.

Colours and sunshine.

Thank you Bjorn, Inger and Jan for coming to Stockholm and showing us your beautiful city.
We had a wonderful time!
When we return, we'll come and visit your home town.
And of course, you are more than welcome here in Sydney.
